Description day tour Granada

Around 9 o’clock you will be picked up by the guide. The group is small (up to 6 people) so we are on the road in no time. On to Granada!

Granada cathedral
kathedraal

After arrival we go to the lively square Bib Rambla in the bustling center of Granada. The guide knows an authentic bar where you are treated to delicious churros with chocolate. You can see how this delicacy is prepared in a large pan. Strengthened we are going to explore the city.

We start our walk in the El Realejo district. There we see the statue of Isabella La Católica. The guide will tell about the period of the Moorish rule of a large part of Spain. And about Isabella, who completed the Reconquista, the re-conquest by the Catholics on the Moors.

lunch in Granada
tapa bar

There are many beautiful remains from the Moorish period. We visit a souk (market), a posada (an inn) and a bathhouse. Furthermore, you can see the impressive cathedral of Granada. Also interesting is the Royal Chapel, the tomb of the Catholic kings. Likely there will be time to view the cathedral and chapel from the inside.
We continue our way through the Moorish district of Albayzin. A jumble of narrow alleys and stairs. And some squares from where you have a magnificent view of the Alhambra and the Sierra Nevada mountains. Flamenco is played on the street. It is a wonderful atmosphere!
It is time for lunch. You can do this on your own occasion. The guide knows some restaurants where you can get the tastiest tapas. After lunch there is some free time.

Alhambra

We round off by visiting the Alhambra. This is a complex of impressive palaces and beautiful gardens. There is a magnificent view of the city and the surroundings. A large part of the Alhambra is freely accessible. A ticket is required for some monuments (see information above). Even without access to the palaces, a visit to the Alhambra is definitely worth it!
It is time to go home again. The end of a beautiful day trip Granada.
